The rebranding is complete: SolarGateway is now officially Embion EMS

We are proud to close an important chapter: the transition from SolarGateway to Embion EMS is complete! In recent months, we have focused on repositioning and growth. Today, we look ahead with a new identity and a clear vision for the future.

Why this change?

The decision to rebrand was about more than just a name change. The name SolarGateway was too closely associated with solar panel installations alone, while our system offers much broader applications. Embion EMS controls and optimises the entire spectrum of electric devices, from heat pumps to charging stations.

Moreover, this marks a new phase of independence. Where we previously partnered with Dijkman for sales and support, we now manage sales, marketing, support and development entirely in house. This independence allows us to maintain direct contact with customers and partners, and to respond more quickly to evolving needs in the market.

What has changed? And what remains the same?

The architecture behind the system remains familiar. You will still benefit from the same technology, with real time monitoring, intelligent control, simple installation and extensive support for installers. What has changed include:

• Our name and brand identity, including a new website and a visual style that reflects our focus on sustainability and innovation
• A significant expansion of our engineering team, enabling us to add features and integrations to the EMS more quickly
• Strengthened customer support, with major improvements in documentation, training, accessibility and service
• The introduction of a licence model, which ensures continued development and a future ready EMS

A future focused licence model

As of 1 March 2025, we have adopted a new pricing and licence model. This makes the initial purchase of the Embion EMS more affordable, while users benefit from ongoing updates, cybersecurity improvements and guaranteed compatibility through a licence agreement. Key advantages of this model include:

• Regular software updates focused on cybersecurity and legal compliance, such as the Cyber Resilience Act
• Continuous development of new features
• Brand independent integrations with an increasing number of devices through Modbus and Rest API
• Flexible licence options tailored to actual usage
• A hardware upgrade within five years via the licence, if available

With this model, we do not only ensure a well functioning system today, but also a secure and up to date solution for tomorrow.
