Embion EMS v5.6: faster control and greater independence

Embion EMS v5.6: faster control and greater independence

With version 5.6 of the Embion EMS, we are introducing a number of improvements that make the system faster, more reliable, and more versatile. This release builds on what already works while also resolving a number of specific issues.

Solar Forecast in Plant Control

Starting withv5.6, solar forecasts are retrieved via the portal and directly incorporated into the control rules engine. This allows energy management to proactively respond to the expected daily yield. It’s a major step toward forward-looking energy management. This feature is available only to customers with a premium license.

Plant Control Directly on the EEC

One of the most significant changes in v5.6 is that plant control is no longer processed in the HUB but directly on the EEC itself. As a result, the system responds faster, continues to optimize during temporary connection interruptions, and is therefore less dependent on the cloud.

Network and cascade

The EMS’s network settings have been further expanded. It is now possible to manually set the priority of the various internet connections, while the EMS automatically monitors which connection actually has internet access. In addition, two Ethernet ports can be linked to function as a switch.

For cascade systems, the overall speed has been improved. As a result, the EMS can respond even more quickly to sudden changes in power, making control more precise.

Control Without a Meter

API control for PV and EV has been significantly accelerated in configurations without a meter. Furthermore, EV chargers can be controlled via both the API and Modbus without requiring a grid meter . This increases the versatility of the Embion EMS in situations where a meter is missing or intentionally excluded from the scope.
