Embion launches new EMS release: faster, smarter and ready for the future

The Latest Version

At Embion, we work daily on improving our Energy Management System so that installers and end users always have access to the latest technology to manage their energy more intelligently. This week, we are proud to introduce the latest version of the Embion EMS, version 5.0.

This release includes significant improvements in data processing and smart device control. Users benefit from longer and more detailed data storage, faster responses from energy components, and new integration possibilities for heat pumps. Installers also gain more flexibility when selecting licences during installation.

Important to know: this release is only available for Embion EMS. The Solargateway will no longer receive feature-updates. Anyone who wants to benefit from these and future improvements will therefore need to switch to Embion EMS.

More Data Storage for Deeper Analysis

One of the biggest improvements is the increase in data storage capacity. High resolution measurement data (at minute intervals) is now retained for a much longer period. This allows for far more accurate analysis, enabling users to respond better to trends and optimisation opportunities within their installation.

Faster and More Efficient Control

Thanks to an architectural adjustment, the control logic of Embion EMS has become significantly faster, allowing battery storage (BESS) and electric vehicle chargers to respond more directly to changes in supply and demand. This ensures more effective and stable peakshaving, which is immediately noticeable in the performance of the energy network.

Smart Integration of Heat Pumps

With the new smart grid feature, Embion EMS can now directly control all heat pumps that are smart grid ready. This makes it possible to perfectly align heat production and energy consumption, which is both cost effective and sustainable.

Flexible Licence Options for Installers

From this release onwards, installers can choose which licence to activate when installing an Embion EMS. This choice can still be adjusted within the first seven days after activation. After this period, the licence is fixed to ensure the installation remains stable.

Make the Switch Now

The rollout of version 5.0 has begun on the15th of August 2025. All new features are immediately available to Embion EMS users who receive the update.
