Future-proof cooling system thanks to a smart battery project with EMS

At Fresh2You in Heerle, a new cold storage unit was recently installed, significantly impacting the site’s energy consumption. To absorb peak loads without exceeding the contracted capacity, Nettion, in collaboration with Embion, developed a smart battery solution.

The installation was carried out on behalf of M3E, with support from partners including Intercel, GreenDee, Robbertsen Tuin & Infra, and PTS-Services. Thanks to the efficient collaboration, the system was fully operational within just two days — from groundwork to commissioning.

The result: a reliable, energy-efficient cooling installation that makes optimal use of self-generated solar power. With the Embion Energy Management System (EMS), the battery is intelligently controlled, keeping energy consumption safely within the desired limits.

With this project, Fresh2You takes an important step toward a sustainable and future-proof operation — supported by the smart energy management of the Embion EMS.
